BETHESDA'S RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

Bethesda offers a variety of residential options including group home living, foster care through our Familyhome Program and customized supported independent living arrangements.

FAMILYHOME LIVING

WHO is this for?
Bethesda’s Familyhome Living…

… is for adults with special needs who desire to live in the community within a family setting.

WHAT is offered?
Bethesda’s Familyhome Living…

…allows individuals an opportunity to live, work, and contribute as a member of a caring family and to participate in community events and services. The Familyhome Program encourages personal choice, decision making, and independence. The Program facilitates regular contact with the individual’s natural family acting as a support and not a replacement to natural families.

Familyhome Providers are carefully screened through reference and police checks, health and fire home inspections, as well as extensive interviews. Familyhome Providers receive 24 hour on-call support by Case Managers.

GROUP HOME LIVING

WHO is this for?
Bethesda’s Group Home Living…

… is for adults with special needs who desire full time residence with a small group of their peers.

WHAT is offered?
Bethesda’s Group Home Living…

…offers a variety of housing arrangements throughout the Niagara Region which includes urban and rural settings and barrier free accommodations. Trained staff provide 24 hour support to individuals living in this family-like setting. Individuals participate individually or as a group in their community activities and outings of their choice. Individuals are supported by other Bethesda programs including Chaplaincy, Drama, Music Therapy, Day Activities, Recreation, and Outreach Services

SUPPORTED INDEPENDENT LIVING (SIL)

WHO is this for?
Bethesda’s Supported Independent Living…

…is for adults with special needs who desire to live independently and require less than 24 hour supports.

WHAT is involved?
Bethesda’s Supported Independent Living…

…provides case management support to individuals living on their own or in shared accommodations based on the individual’s needs. Supports may include assistance in financial management, shopping, transportation, attendance at professional appointments, and accessing Bethesda’s or other community services.
