Hamilton-Niagara Regional's Autism Intervention Program… Hamilton-Niagara Regional Autism Intervention Program is for children under the age of 18 who reside in the Niagara Region and have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. WHAT is offered? Hamilton-Niagara Regional Autism Intervention Program offers... Eligibility and Waitlist Coordination Services – will facilitate eligibility assessments with the team from McMaster Children’s Hospital. Families will receive a decision about eligibility within six weeks of the referral. Child & Family Support Services (CFSS) - therapy to children who are on the IBI services waitlist. Parent training and individual consultation are provided with a focus on Autism, behavioural strategies, IBI preparation, functional communication and social skills training. Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) services to improve the child’s ability to function and participate in their community. The children receive approximately 20 hours per week of therapy including one-to-one sessions and group teaching sessions focusing on social and functional skill training. Treatment can take place at the centre, the child’s home, or day care environment. Transition Support Services (TSS) – post-treatment support, advice and consultation for families and professionals working with children who have been discharged from IBI. This support can be in the form of parent training, school consultation, and individual and group sessions focused on assisting with the generalization of skills. HOW are these services accessed?
