Regional Respite Programs - Supporting Families through Flexible, Personalized Respite Care
Bethesda’s Regional Respite Program provides short-term, temporary care for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who live at home with their families. The program is designed to give families a break from caregiving while offering participants engaging, individualized experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Shaped by feedback from families, the Regional Respite Program now offers more flexible, personalized, and community-integrated options to better meet diverse needs.

Our four-bedroom home in Vineland provides a comfortable, activity-based setting where participants can enjoy crafts, games, music, swimming, picnics, and more, based on their interests and abilities. Overnight stays are available on weekends and during week-long sessions throughout the summer.
Reduced from 8 beds to 4 to allow for more individualized care
Planned stays are encouraged as space is limited

Families can now arrange for respite care to take place within their own home for up to three hours at a time. This option provides convenience, flexibility, and continuity of care for both families and participants.

Participants have opportunities to connect with others and explore the community through recreational outings, such as bowling, movies, and other group activities.
