Regional Respite Program

Regional Respite Programs - Supporting Families through Flexible, Personalized Respite Care

Bethesda’s Regional Respite Program provides short-term, temporary care for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities who live at home with their families. The program is designed to give families a break from caregiving while offering participants engaging, individualized experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Shaped by feedback from families, the Regional Respite Program now offers more flexible, personalized, and community-integrated options to better meet diverse needs.

  • Our four-bedroom home in Vineland provides a comfortable, activity-based setting where participants can enjoy crafts, games, music, swimming, picnics, and more, based on their interests and abilities. Overnight stays are available on weekends and during week-long sessions throughout the summer.

    • Reduced from 8 beds to 4 to allow for more individualized care

    • Planned stays are encouraged as space is limited

  • Families can now arrange for respite care to take place within their own home for up to three hours at a time. This option provides convenience, flexibility, and continuity of care for both families and participants.

  • Participants have opportunities to connect with others and explore the community through recreational outings, such as bowling, movies, and other group activities.
