Use Your Ontario Autism Program (OAP) Core Clinical Funding

OAP Core Clinical Funding can be used to access a wide range of mental health and wellness services for children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These services are designed to address mental health and well-being, providing strategies to families for challenges like anxiety, depression, or emotional regulation.

Families can use their Core Clinical Funding to access these essential services, which may also be eligible for coverage through insurance providers, ensuring comprehensive support for mental health and emotional well-being.

Meet the Team

  • Emily Jones, M.A., RP

    Emily is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology. She has experience working with individuals in a hospital setting, providing both individual and group therapy for a variety of mental health concerns.

    Since joining Bethesda in 2021, Emily has been dedicated to supporting individuals with complex and comorbid mental health challenges. Her compassionate approach and expertise in counselling psychology make her a valuable asset to the team.

  • Allison Baxter, MSW, RSW

    Allison is a Registered Social Worker with more than 10 years of experience in developmental services. She specializes in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), intellectual disability, and neuro-typical conditions.

    With a Master's in Social Work and certifications in Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and Trauma Therapy, Allison offers a range of therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Positive Psychology. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, and self-esteem.

    Allison is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective support to her clients, helping them build resilience and achieve their goals.

  • Grant Hyndman, M.Div, RP

    Grant is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Divinity degree. He has experience working with children and adolescents, specializing in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their caregivers.

    Grant has a background in children's mental health and has worked in various clinical settings, including leading Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) teams and co-facilitating groups. He is passionate about providing compassionate and effective support to individuals struggling with mental health challenges.

  • Tasha Milana, MSc., RP

    Tasha holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counselling and has experience working in a variety of clinical settings with children and youth. She also works collaboratively with families and caregivers to support meaningful and lasting change. Tasha takes a trauma-informed approach to therapy and integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with person-centred practices to meet each client’s unique needs. She also incorporates somatic strategies and mindfulness techniques to help clients develop greater emotional awareness, regulation, and resilience.

    Tasha has experience supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bullying, and emotion regulation challenges. She is passionate about helping others and strives to provide a supportive, empathetic space where clients feel understood and empowered.

  • Aaliyah Thompson

    Aaliyah is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She is deeply committed to supporting children, especially those with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. Aaliyah is also passionate about working alongside caregivers, offering guidance and education to help them support their loved ones with greater understanding and compassion. She takes a person-centred approach to therapy, prioritizing connection and collaboration to better understand each client’s unique experiences and needs. Aaliyah draws from evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, self-esteem, and personal growth.

Individual Therapy for Children and Youth

Our individual therapy sessions for children and youth are designed to provide a safe and supportive space to explore emotions, develop coping mechanisms, and build resilience.  Our team will work collaboratively with your child to address their specific needs and goals, which may include managing anxiety or depression, improving social skills, or developing emotional regulation strategies. Therapy sessions may incorporate creative activities, talk therapy, or skill-building exercises.

Individual Therapy for Caregivers

Our individual therapy sessions for caregivers and parents provide a space to address your emotional well-being, develop parenting strategies, and learn tools to support your child's development. You can expect to explore topics like stress management, communication techniques, and self-care practices. Our team will work with you to create a personalized plan to empower you in your role as a caregiver.
